Landscaping Green

The Sustainable Landscape:

Environment & Energy Friendly Principles

At John Hollowell & Associates we have always built things to last using many natural materials. With the recent movement to build sustainable green landscapes we have new language and studies to support our philosophy. We are excited to continue to research and offer our clients environmentally conscious landscape techniques.

Natural Design, Natural Materials, Native Plants

Using native plants that thrive with minimal care

This creates a system structured more like nature.
Materials use less energy to produce/cultivate

This style also uses less energy for maintenance

And it creates a space for wildlife to flourish

Conserving Water, Rain Gardens, Green Roofs

Using gravel for drives & paths allows water to permeate

Arranging plants to conserve energy (house heating, watering)

Green roofs are insulating + clean + lessen water in storm sewers
Rain gardens also filter water through plants and soil
