Design Overview:
At John Hollowell & Associates, inc., our design objective is to develop a comprehensive solution for your space. To provide you with the best possible design we must consider your aesthetic preferences, the possibilities and constraints of the site, and what functions, usability, and design goals you have in order to meet your particular needs. Completely filling out this questionnaire will assist us in giving you the best design.
The first part of this questionnaire asks you to respond to a series of eight photographs of our previous projects. To the right of the picture is a list of items. Please circle any item(s) with which you agree. Below the picture is a 1-10 scale asking you to rate your overall preference for the space. Last, there is space for additional comments. These additional comments are most important for helping us to carry your aesthetic preferences through the design process, so don’t hesitate to add more commentary than less.
The second part of this questionnaire asks questions pertaining to your project objectives. The first half asks that you identify the specific programming goals you have, which is ‘what’ specifically you want us to design or resolve on your site. For instance, if you want us to design a patio or deck, a planting plan, or a master plan for your whole property. If there are particular constraints or problems associated with your site (drainage, deer problems, etc.) we need to know about these as early as possible.
The later half asks for you to consider your design goals and priorities, which is ‘how’ you would like your programming goals to be met. This section will help us gauge what kind of landscape you would be most happy with or what unique properties could be incorporated into the final product.
