WATER WATER WATER. · FERTILIZE: If after three (3) weeks the lawn is not dark blue/green in color, apply a slow release, high nitrogen fertilizer, such as 25-5-15. Use according to manufacturers instructions. The most important step to growing a lawn is to feed, feed, feed. We generally recommend feeding at 3 weeks, 7 weeks, and 11 weeks. · MOW: Cut developed lawn to a height of 3" the first mowing, and leave the clippings on the lawn. Cut to a height of 2 1/2" on a regular basis with a small (21") mower. Do Not allow the grass to exceed 5" in height. DO NOT remove straw mulch. · CONTROL WEEDS: It is safe to treat broad leaf weed problems eight (8) weeks after germination. If there are a large number of weeds, spray with Weed-B-Gone or an equivalent 2-4-D broad leaf weed control product. · MAINTAIN: As an option, some owners choose to hire a professional lawn care service to help fertilize and maintain their new lawn for the first year. |
